While envisioning India as a developed nation, it is imperative to uplift the last segment of society and bring them into the mainstream. Without the holistic development of Palghar, the dream of a Viksit Bharat cannot be fulfilled, stated Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma today at Dahanu.
This was Governor Varma’s first visit to Palghar district after assuming office in March 2026, and the occasion generated great enthusiasm among the people. On the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya and Lord Parashurama Jayanti, he inaugurated mobile clinics and ambulance services for tribal and remote areas of Palghar district at Osarvira village, Dahanu taluka, under the joint initiative of Vanbandhu Trust and Bharat Vikas Sangam.
Bharat Vikas Sangam’s Patron Sanjay Patel, Governor’s Secretary Dr. Prashant Narnaware, District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Manoj Ranade, Vanbandhu Trust President Ladulal Soni, Yogayatan Group Chairman Dr. Rajendra Pratap Singh, senior social worker Sushil Singhania, and citizens were present.
Beginning in his address with the invocation “Sarve Bhavantu Niramayah” (May all be free from illness), the Governor emphasized that healthcare facilities must not remain confined to cities but should reach every citizen in remote regions. He assured concrete measures to address challenges of employment, healthcare, and drinking water in tribal-dominated areas like Palghar. He also announced plans to implement the concept of a “Model Village” in Palghar, with the district administration and relevant agencies preparing a comprehensive development blueprint soon.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas”, the Governor stressed that prioritizing the welfare of the last person in line (Antyodaya) is a moral duty. He praised the initiative of Vanbandhu Trust in providing mobile clinics, ambulances, and doctors to remote areas. He further remarked that while becoming engineers, technocrats, or chartered accountants is commendable, being a responsible citizen serving society is of greater value. “Service to the suffering is true heaven,” he noted.
During his first visit, the Governor interacted with local representatives and district officials, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening infrastructure in remote areas. He assured that the doors of Lok Bhavan will always remain open for the progress of tribal communities and pledged personal attention to Palghar’s development.
Vanbandhu Trust President Ladulal Soni delivered the introductory remarks, outlining the Trust’s healthcare projects aimed at providing immediate medical assistance to citizens in remote tribal regions. Governor’s Secretary Dr. Prashant Narnaware highlighted how administrative and social coordination can transform the landscape of remote areas.
District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar shared insights on the current healthcare situation and ongoing government schemes, assuring that under the Governor’s guidance, the district administration will accelerate its efforts.
