    Maharashtra Governor welcomes NZ PM Christopher Luxon at Raj Bhavan

    Stating that New Zealand is renowned for good governance and transparency, Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon today said New Zealand is keen to work with India and especially with Maharashtra in the areas of renewable energy, education, sports, agriculture technology, dairy development and emerging areas like Artificial Intelligence.

    Prime Minister Christopher Luxon was speaking to the Governor of Maharashtra C.P. Radhakrishnan during a reception hosted by the Governor for the Prime Minister at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Wed (19 Mar).

    The visiting Prime Minister said he was happy to learn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India is keen to host the Olympics in 2036. In this connection he said New Zealand has a good record in the Olympics and would be keen to extend cooperation in sports also.

    Welcoming the New Zealand Prime Minister to Maharashtra, the Governor said he would like to see greater cooperation between the Universities in Maharashtra and those in New Zealand in the area of higher education, particularly through student exchange, semester transfer etc.

    The Governor later hosted a luncheon in honor of the visiting Prime Minister.

    Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Prof Ram Shinde, Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar, Minister for Protocol Jayakumar Rawal, Minister of Tourism Shambhuraj Desai, former Governor General of New Zealand Anand Satyanand, Cricketer Ajaz Patel attended the luncheon meeting.
