    Governor applauds the work of ‘Sevankur Bharat’

    Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan today released a short film on ‘Sevankur Bharat: One Week for the Nation’ at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The short film documents the work of medical students and doctors in rural and tribal areas as part of the project ‘Sevankur Bharat’. The project is run under the aegis of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan.

    Speaking on the occasion the Governor applauded the work of the ‘Sevankur Bharat’ under which free healthcare and medical services are given to the people in rural and tribal areas of various states of the country by young doctors and medical students.

    The Governor said if every citizen of the nation dedicates one week for the nation, India will regain its past glory.

    Stating that if medical students from various medical colleges get the opportunity to serve the rural and tribal people, their world of experience will be broadened, the Governor said that he will ask the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences to cooperate with the Sevankur project. This according to him, will make available more students and doctors for healthcare service in rural and tribal areas. The Governor congratulated all the doctors and medical students participating in this project.

    The Governor felicitated Naveen Kale, founder of the short film production organization ‘Swayam Talks’, co-founder Ashay Mahajan and writer-director Omkar Dhore. Jackie Patel of Swayam was also felicitated for providing financial support to the production of the short film. Entrepreneur Govind Goyal welcomed the Governor.

    Dr. Satish Kulkarni, Chairman of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Medical Foundation, Dean Dr. Swati Shiradkar, Secretary Dr. Ashwini Kumar Tupakari, as well as members of the foundation and doctors were present.
