Maharashtra Governor unveils foundation of expansion of Palliative Care Expansion Project
Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan laid the foundation stone of the expansion project of the Sukoon Nilaya Palliative Care Centre of the King George V Memorial Trust in Mumbai on Sat (18 Jan).
The Governor also unveiled the foundation stone of the new roofing of the Infirmary in the Complex and the solar power project.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor applauded the work of the King George V Memorial Trust. He called for creating more facilities for the elderly patients considering the growing population of senior citizens in the country.
Earlier, the Governor visited the Palliative Care Centre and enquired about the patients.
The Sukoon Nilaya Palliative Care project takes care of the non Cancer patients suffering from serious ailments free of cost.
Chairman of the KGVM Trust Dr Erik Borges, Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Director of Municipal Hospitals Dr Neelam Andrade, Secretary of the Trust Vandana Oberoi, Trustees, donor organization representatives and individual donors were present.
