    Governor, Dy CM inaugurate New Building of Governor’s Secretariat; CM inspects building with Governor

    Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the new building of the ‘Governor’s Secretariat’ at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Fri (16 Dec).

    Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met the Governor and inspected the New Governor’s Secretariat building, before proceeding for his outstation tour.

    Minister of Ports and Mines Dadaji Bhuse and Minister of School Education Deepak Kesarkar also accompanied the Chief Minister.

    The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Skills, Women and Child Welfare Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary to the Governor Santosh Kumar and officers and staff of Raj Bhavan and Public Works Department.

    The new Governor’s Secretariat is a Green building consisting of Basement plus Ground Floor and First Floor. It has 22 Cabins and Work stations, Library, Records and Storage Room, Server Room and Control Room.

    The Secretariat will house the offices of the Principal Secretary to the Governor, the Comptroller of the Governor’s Households and the Branches of the Education Department, Administration Department, Development Boards, Accounts Branch, Tribal Cell etc.

    The old Secretariat building was originally built in 1912 and had become unfit for occupation. It had an area of 457 sq meters. The new building has an area of 2286 square meters.
