Governor releases Postal Stamp on Golden Jubilee of Birla College Kalyan

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari released a postal stamp and special cover on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Kalyan’s Birla College and the birth centenary of its founder Basant Kumar Birla at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Thursday (14th Oct).

Chairperson of Aditya Birla Rural Development and Community Initiatives Rajashree Birla (online), Chairman of the Governing Council of the College Omprakash Chitalange, Chief Post Master General of Maharashtra and Goa Harish Chandra Agarwal, Director Prof Naresh Chandra and Principal Avinash Patil were present.

Speaking on the occasion the Governor applauded the Birla Group for upholding the values of Indian culture through its businesses and educational institutions. The Governor said Birla family had close association with Mahatma Gandhi. He applauded Rajashree Birla and Kumar Mangalam Birla for continuing the tradition of philanthropy. He expressed the hope that the Birla College will strive to become a deemed university in the near future.
