                                                  Raj Bhavan gets top Rolling Trophy at 59th Veg, Fruit, Flower Show

    The Raj Bhavan Garden at the Governor’s residence has received top two Rolling Trophies in the Garden Competition at the 59th Annual Vegetable, Fruit and Flower Show that concluded in Mumbai.

    This was the third consecutive year for Raj Bhavan to receive the top award. Raj Bhavan also received 5 other trophies in various competitions of flower display.

    Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited the Garden Superintendent and the gardening staff and congratulated them for their dedicated work.

    The Governor’s Garden received the first top prize in the category of gardens of Government, Semi Government, Municipality, Institutions, Railway Offices and Stations and Commercial establishment having area above 1000 sq. mt. The second top prize was received in the category of Bungalows maintained by Government over 2000 sq.mts area.

    The gardening staff of Raj Bhavan received the awards at the hands of noted economist Dr Usha Thorat at the Vegetable, Fruit and Flower Show. President of the Society Dr Ashok Kothari and Vice President Dr Arun Sawant were present.

    The Raj Bhavan garden received 5 other trophies in the segment ‘ Annuals Grown in Containers, Collection of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants, Cut Flowers – Annuals, Cut Flowers – Biennial and Perennial and Orchid. The trophies were given away by Vice Chairman of MSRDC Radheshyam Mopalwar.
