Governor condoles demise of industrialist, social worker Rani Poddar

The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed condolences on the demise of noted industrialist and social worker Smt Rani Poddar.

In a condolence message, the Governor said, “I was saddened to know about the demise of entrepreneur and social worker Smt Rani Poddar. As founder of ‘Puncham’, she set up water kiosks in the city. She was always in the forefront of the work of women empowerment, Beti Bachao and organization of eye check-up camps for the poor. Rani Poddar also did a lot of good work during the COVID-19 pandemic period. I pay my respects to the departed soul and convey my condolences to the members of the bereaved family.”
