    World Mental Health Day at Raj Bhavan

    Maharashtra Governor calls upon doctors to give hope and confidence to patients

    Stressing that mental health is equally, and perhaps more important than physical health, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari called upon doctors and experts to provide counselling to boost the confidence of patients and create a new hope in them.

    The Governor was speaking at a felicitation programme of doctors organized on the occasion of World Mental Health Day at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Sunday (10th Oct) The programme was organized by Lodha Foundation and Lodha Luxury.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said COVID-19 pandemic has as much affected the mental well being of people as it has affected their physical health. He appealed to the doctors to give a new confidence and hope to patients by interacting with them. Citing the example of Bhagvad Gita, the Governor said Bhagvad Gita talks about the boosting of morale of Arjuna by Lord Krishna who helps Arjuna to overcome depression. He appealed to the medical fraternity to look at the scriptures to gain newer insights into the issue of mental health.

    The programme of World Mental Health Day began with the singing of Wellness Anthem by Ayraah Lodha.

    The Governor felicitated Dr Zirak Marker, Dr Pratik Samdani, Dr Zarir Udwadia, Dr Shashank Joshi, Dr Chetan Bhatt, Dr Abdul Ansari, Dr Gautam Bhansali, Dr Pankaj Parekh, Dr Anjali Chhabria, Dr Milind Kirtane and other doctors on the occasion.

    MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha and CEO of Lodha Luxury Abhishek Lodha were present.
