08.07.2025: Governor presents Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Awards

08.07.2025: The 80th Foundation Day of the People's Education Society, an educational institution established by Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, was celebrated today in presence of Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Mumbai. The Governor presented the “Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Award” to two distinguished alumni of the institution - Maharashtra’s Minister for Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil and Minister for Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat along with 20 other individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, Trustee of the Society Adv. Ujjwal Nikam, Trustee Adv. B.K. Barve, and other office-bearers were present. Popular actor Bhau Kadam, actress Kranti Redkar, Bhadant Dr Rahul Bodhi, Dhammadeep Bhante from South Koria, Director of Higher Education Shailendra Deolankar, Baliram Gaikwad were among those felicitated on the occasion.

The 80th Foundation Day of the People’s Education Society, an educational institution established by Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, was celebrated in presence of Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Mumbai on Tue (8 July).

The Governor presented the “Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Award” to two alumni of the institution — Maharashtra’s Minister for Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil and Minister for Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat — along with 20 other individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields.
