Governor Acharya Devvrat expresses grief over the demise of Dr Madhavrao Gadgil

The Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat Acharya Devvrat has expressed grief over the demise of environmentalist Dr Madhavrao Gadgil. In a condolence message, the Governor wrote:

“I was deeply saddened to learn about the demise of the environmental expert of national and international repute Dr. Madhavrao Gadgil. Dr. Gadgil devoted his life to the cause of maintaining ecological balance, conservation, and the preservation of biodiversity. He was a modern day sage in his field. Even as environmental degradation is occurring across the world at an alarming pace, he consistently worked to create awareness about environmental protection among students, youth, and all sections of society. Carrying forward his unfinished work will be a fitting tribute to him.”
