    Governor expresses need to provide proper platform to Divyang persons

    Stating that Divyang persons do not seek sympathy from society, Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais today expressed the need to provide them the right platform and an opportunity to excel in art, sports and other professions and vocations.

    The Governor was speaking to a group of Divyang persons from the M N Banajee Industrial Home for the Blind, an activity of the ‘National Association for the Blind’ (NAB) at Raj Bhavan on Friday (6th Oct).

    Stating that the the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill passed in the Parliament was prepared by the Parliamentary Committee headed by him, the Governor assured that he will do his best to extend all kinds of support to the Divyang persons.

    The Governor expressed the need to make all public places including bus stations, railway stations, government offices, colleges etc accessible for the DIvyang persons. The Governor announced a donation of rupees five lakh rupees to the institution.

    Executive Director of ‘NAB’ Pallavi Kadam, social worker Babita Singh and sports coach Charles apprised the Governor about the work of the institution.

    The Divyang persons presented gifts prepared by them to the Governor.
