    05.07.2026 : Governor unveils the statue of Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve at the SNDT University Campus in Pune

    05.07.2026 : Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of the state universities Jishnu Dev Varma unveiled the statue of great educationist and social reformer Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve at the SNDT University Campus in Pune. The statue was unveiled on the occasion of the 111th Foundation Day of the SNDT Women's University founded by Maharshi Karve in 1916. The Governor visited the Maharshi Karve Kutir and the Exhibition of 'Innovation Mahakumbh 2.0'. The Governor presented the Best College, Best Teacher, Best Non-teaching Staff, Best NCC Cadet and Best Alumnus awards and felicitated the winner of the Maharshi Karve Khelratna Award. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Dada Patil, MP (RS) Medha Kulkarni, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Ujwala Chakradeo, Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware and Registrar of the University Prof Vilas Nandavadekar were present.
