    Governor Koshyari presides over 29th Convocation of North Maharashtra University

    The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari in his capacity as Chancellor of Universities presided over the 29th Convocation of the Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University Jalgaon through online mode on Monday (3 May).

    Congratulating the graduating students, the Governor called upon universities and students to resolve to create awareness in society about the precautions to be taken to avoid CoronaVirus disease. Mentioning that the COVID-19 disease is unlikely to go away all of a sudden, he said participation of every person is necessary to stop the deadly wave. The Governor reminded the students that their degrees acquired from the University will be successful if only they worked for the betterment of society and its needy people in these testing times.

    Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant called for organizing an annual literary festival by every university to preserve and promote literature and culture. He called for making all university campuses ‘Tobacco free, addiction free and free from harassment’.

    In his report, officiating Vice Chancellor Dr E Vayunandan informed that 49753 graduates are being conferred degrees while 261 candidates are being awarded Ph.Ds on the occasion. Avinash Patil was awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal while Adnan Ahmed Sheikh and Gayatri Sanjay Bari were presented other Gold Medals.
