    Director eof NEERI Atul Vaidya appointed as Vice-Chancellor of LIT University

    The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of universities C P Radhakrishnan has appointed the Director of NEERI Nagpur Dr. Atul Narayan Vaidya as the Vice-Chancellor of the Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, Nagpur.

    Dr Atul Vaidya has been appointed as vice chancellor for a term of five years with effect from the date he assumes the charge of his office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

    Dr. Atul Vaidya (b. 4 Dec. 1964) holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from LIT Nagpur and obtained his PhD from the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

    Starting as Junior Scientist at NEERI in 1990, Dr Vaidya has been working as Scientist at various levels at NEERI. He has extensive experience of research, teaching and administration.

    The Governor constituted a selection committee under the chairmanship of former Director of CSIR Dr Raghunath Mashelkar to appoint the Vice Chancellor of LIT University. Dr Ashish Lele, Director of National Chemical Laboratory, Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, former Vice Chancellor of ‘The English and Foreign Languages University Hyderabad and Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Higher and Technical Education were members of the Committee.
