    Maharashtra Governor gives send off to Divyang Olympicians going for Berlin Special Olympics

    Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais gave a send off to the Maharashtra contingent of intellectually challenged sports persons participating in the ‘Special Olympics’ World Summer Games 2023 at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The Governor felicitated the participating sports persons and wished them success.

    Minister of Tourism, Skills and Women and Child Welfare Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Chairperson of the ‘Special Olympics Bharat’ Dr Mallika Nadda, Chairperson of ‘Special Olympic Bharat’ Maharashtra Dr. Medha Somaiya, Vice Chairperson Parveen Dasgupta, Project Manager Hansini Raut, coaches and sports persons were present.

    The Special Olympics World Summer Games are the world’s largest inclusive sports event for the intellectually challenged athletes. The Games are being held in Berlin from 17 to 25 June. Fourteen intellectually challenged divyang sports persons from Maharashtra including 11 girls; and 5 coaches including 4 women are participating in the event.
