Maharashtra Governor condoles demise of Vijaya Mehta

The Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma has expressed grief over the demise of a legendary theatre and film producer and director Vijaya Mehta. In a condolence message, the Governor wrote:
“With her extraordinary talent, vision, spirit of experimentation and creative genius, Vijaya Mehta elevated Marathi theatre and Indian cinema to new heights. Her immense contribution has left an indelible imprint on the world of theatre, and her rich legacy will continue to inspire and guide generations of artists and theatre lovers.

On behalf of the discerning theatre lovers and the people of Maharashtra, I pay my respects to the late Vijaya Mehta. I convey my deepest condolences to the members of her bereaved family and to her admirers and well-wishers.”
