    16.07.2026: Governor visits Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya in Mumbai

    16.07.2026 : Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma today visited the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum in Mumbai and inspected the rich collection of historic and artistic works of various materials and techniques.  The Governor appreciated the works done by the Museum and sought its help in preserving the dying arts of India. Director General and Secretary Board of Trustees of the Museum Sabyasachi Mukherjee apprised the Governor of the history and evolution of the Museum .  Mukherjeee and other curators showed the Governor the Gallery of India and the Ancient World, the Sculpture Gallery, the Himalayan Art Gallery and the Museum Storage of Miniature Paintings and Textile. Mukherjee told the Governor that the Museum has been playing an important role in creating awareness and sensitivity towards its rich collection among the people and students through its education programmes, mobile museum and other outreach activities.
