12.06.2026: Delegation of Maharashtra Olympic Association meets Governor
12.06.2026: A delegation of the Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA), led by former Member of Parliament and the Association’s Senior Vice President, Manoj Kotak, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai. The delegation discussed the need to provide quality training and development opportunities for young athletes participating in various sporting disciplines. During the interaction, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma observed that athletes from the North-Eastern states possess immense talent. However, while sports infrastructure in those states remains limited, Maharashtra offers comparatively advanced sporting facilities. He suggested that Maharashtra should facilitate training opportunities for talented athletes from the North-East by enabling them to access the state’s sports infrastructure. The Governor further stated that Maharashtra has established itself as a leading state in the field of sports and should take the lead in promoting and popularising various sports across the country under the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' initiative. General Secretary of MOA Sanjay Shete, Joint Secretary Dr. Pradeep Khandare, General Secretary of All India Tennis Association Sundar Iyer, General Secretary of the Tripura Olympic Association and Joint Secretary of the All India Tennis Association Sujit Roy, along with office-bearers of various sports organisations were present.
