Delegation of Young Parliamentarians from Bangladesh meets Maharashtra Governor

A 17- member delegation of young Parliamentarians and political leaders from Bangladesh met the Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Friday (15th March).

Leader of the delegation Nahim Razzak told the Governor that Maharashtra is the most progressive State and the city of Mumbai is the commercial capital of India.

He said, apart from promoting business cooperation, Bangladesh would like to like to foster educational collaboration and exchange programme with Universities in Maharashtra.

The delegation said many students from Bangladesh come to Pune to pursue higher education.

Welcoming the parliamentary delegation to Maharashtra, Governor CH. Vidyasagar Rao said the visit by parliamentarians and political leaders from Bangladesh will bring people of the two nations closer. The Governor assured his fullest cooperation to any proposal for collaboration between Universities in Bangladesh and those in Maharashtra.

Member of Parliament Razee Mohammad Fakhrul, Al Haj Nazrul Islam, the first captain of the Bangladesh Test cricket team and now MP A M Naimur Rahman, Mayor of Natore Municipal Corporation Uma Chowdhury, Deputy HIgh Commisioner of Bangladesh in Mumbai Mohammed Lutfor Rahman and Vice President of Observer Research Foundation Dhaval Desai were among those present.

The six-day visit of young Parliamentarians from Bangladesh to India was organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation.
