28.04.2026 : Governor Jishnu Dev Varma presided over the inauguration of the 100th Annual General Meeting of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the National Conference of Vice-Chancellors at the Dr. D. Y. Patil University campus in Pimpri, Pune. Addressing the vice chancellors and academicians at the AIU Meet, the Governor called for creating an inclusive educational system and emphasizing on innovation and research to build a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. President of AIU Prof. Dr. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Secretary General Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil University Dr. P. D. Patil, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Bhagyashree Patil, Vice-Chancellor Dr. N. J. Pawar, Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Somnath Patil, Dr. Smita Jadhav, and other dignitaries were present. The Governor released the commemorative volume titled “Transformation of Education” and the “Indian University Journal.”
