19.02.2026 : Governor’s speech in Mumbai Climate Week
19.02.2026 : Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat presided over the Concluding Plenary of the 3-day Conference titled “Mumbai Climate Week” in Mumbai. The Governor presented the MCW Innovation Challenge awards to nine organisations and startups working in the environment sector. The Conference was organised by ‘Project Mumbai’ in association with the Government of Maharashtra and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Minister of Environment and Climate Change Pankaja Munde, Minister of Information Technology and Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, ‘Project Mumbai’ founder Shishir Joshi, Board Member Jalaj Dani, experts in the field of Climate and Environment, researchers and government officials were present. Addressing the delegates, Governor Acharya Devvrat stated that no creature on earth has harmed nature and the environment; on the contrary, humans – considered the most intelligent beings – have caused tremendous environmental degradation. He said discussions on saving Climate must also include agriculture and the rural economy.
