Prof Sanjeev Sonawane given addl charge as VC MUHS

Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of state universities Acharya Devvrat has appointed Prof Sanjeev Sonawane, Vice Chancellor, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University to act as Vice Chancellor of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik from 1 February 2026, until further orders.

The Governor had by an order dated 23 October 2025 given the additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor MUHS to Dr Ajay Chandanwale, Director, Medical Education and Research. However since Dr Chandanwale is retiring as Director of Medical Education and Research on 31st January 2026, Prof Sanjeev Sonawane has been asked to take additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor MUHS.
