01.12.2025 : Governor’s speech in Gita Jayanti Mahotsav at Alandi, Pune
01.12.2025 : On the occasion of Gita Jayanti, the Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat presided over the Gita Jayanti Mahotsav at Vedashree Tapovan, Moshi, Alandi near Pune. The Mahotsav was jointly organised by the Vedshree Tapovan, Maharshi Ved Vyas Pratishthan, Sant Dnyaneshwar Gurukul, Gita Parivar and Shri Krishna Seva Nidhi. The Governor conferred the Sant Dnyaneshwar Award upon Shanti Brahma Maruti Maharaj Kurekar. Trustee of the Chilkur Balaji Venkateswara Swamy Temple C. S. Ranganathan was honoured with the Swami Vivekananda Award. Scholar of saint literature Dr. Mukund Datar was felicitated for his contributions to social service. Acharya Govind Giri Maharaj, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra; Abhay Bhutada, Chairperson of the festival committee and Sanjay Malpani, Executive Chairperson of Gita Parivar were present. In his address, the Governor described Vedas as the heritage of the entire world. He further said that the essence of the Vedas is in the Upanishads and the essence of the Upanishads is the Gita. The Governor also visited the Vedshree Tapovan Veda School, where Vedic education is imparted.
