Higher & Tech Education Minister meets Governor
Governor to hold meeting of all State VCs soon
Minister for Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil met the Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of State Universities C. P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai and held discussions on various matters pertaining to higher education on Wed (18 Jun).
The Governor said he will be holding a meeting of the Joint Board of Vice Chancellors to discuss various issues pertaining to state universities. The Governor said he will soon be visiting agriculture universities along with the State Agriculture Minister to see firsthand the work of agriculture research being carried out by the universities.
The meeting discussed topics such as recruitment to the teaching and non-teaching positions in universities, recruitment to statutory posts, achievements of the department of higher and technical education during the first 100 days of the government, apprenticeship-embedded degree programmes, collaboration with the Skill University, implementation of the National Education Policy, administrative reforms in universities, and hostel facilities for students of all degree programmes.
Additional Chief Secretary (H & TE) B. Venugopal Reddy; Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Director of Higher Education Dr. Shailendra Deolankar; Director of Technical Education Dr. Vinod Mohitkar and Deputy Secretary to the Governor S. Ramamoorthy were among those present.
