Maharashtra Governor, Union Minister Piyush Goyal attend Mahavir Jayanti Celebrations in Mumbai
Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan presided over the ‘Mahavir Swami Janm Kalyanak Mahotsav’ organised by the Bharat Jain Mahamandal on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti at Yogi Sabhagruh in Mumbai on Thursday (10 April). The Governor released the 125th anniversary issue ‘Jain Jagat’ brought out by Bharat Jain Mahamandal on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Governor said paying taxes is one way of serving the society. He said through the collection of taxes, the Government builds highways and bridges and takes care of the jawans who are defending the nation on the borders. He appealed to the people to pay their taxes as a duty to the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said non violence also means punishing those indulging in violence. He said the Government has controlled left wing extremism effectively and stated that India will be free of the Naxalism menace by March 2026.
