Governor’s Eco-friendly Ganesh murti immersed in artificial pond
Governor bids farewell to Lord Ganesh
The eco-friendly Ganesh, installed at the residence of Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan was immersed in an artificial pond at Raj Bhavan on the fifth day of Ganeshotsav on Wed (11 Sept).
The Governor bid farewell to Ganesh after performing the aarti along with his family members and officers and staff of Raj Bhavan.
The Governor had desired that the Ganesh idol should be immersed in an artificial pond in order to prevent the pollution of sea water. Accordingly the murti was immersed in the neighbourhood artificial pond.
Principal Secretary to the Governor Pravin Darade, Joint Secretary Shweta Singhal, Comptroller Jitendra Wagh and other officers and employees were present.
The Ganesh idol installed at Raj Bhavan was made of clay. It was created by an inmate of the Nashik Central prison. The murti was presented to the Governor at the instance of Nashik’s Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik.
