14.04.2024 : Governor inaugurates Fire Service Week on 80th anniversary of Dock Explosion

14.04.2024 : Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurated the State level Fire Service Week on the occasion of National Fire Service Day at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The Governor presented the President’s Fire Service Medals to four officers and firefighters who have been declared the medals. The Governor also inaugurated the Fund Collection drive for the Maharashtra Fire Service Welfare Fund. Director of Maharashtra Fire Services Santosh Warick. The National Fire Service Day is observed on April 14 to commemorate all the brave firefighters who lost their lives during a ship explosion at the Mumbai dockyard in 1944.
