Maharashtra Governor inaugurates Merchant Navy Week Celebrations

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurated the 61st National Maritime Day and Merchant Navy Week – 2024 at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Sat (30 Mar). Director General of Shipping Shyam Jagannathan affixed the maritime day badge on the apparel of the Governor.

The Merchant Navy Week was organised by the Shipping Corporation of India and the National Maritime Day Celebrations Committee. The theme of the Merchant Navy Week is ‘Sustainable Shipping: Challenges and Opportunities’.

Chairman of Shipping Corporation of India Capt B K Tyagi, Chairman of National Maritime Day Celebrations Committee Atul Ubale, Deputy DG Dr Pandurang Raut, Ship Surveyor Aniruddha Chaki, Nautical Surveyor Capt Manish Kumar, Shipping Master Mukul Datta and representatives of various shipping organisations were present.
