04.12.2023 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Sindhudurg and attended the Navy Day celebrations at Tarkarli Beach in Sindhudurg district. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Narayan Rane, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar and others were present. The event was hosted by Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff and conducted by Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.
