Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurates Gem & Jewellery Show in Mumbai

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurated the 4th Gem and Jewellery Show, a Business to Business meet at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai on Sat (30th Sept).

Speaking on the occasion the Governor called upon the captains of the Gem and Jewellery industry to enable more women to become Gem and Jewellery entrepreneurs.

Stating that women are patrons and customers of the Gem and Jewellery industry, he said efforts should be made to encourage more women entrepreneurs to join the Gem and Jewellery industry.

Mentioning that handmade jewellery in India is unique in the world, he said efforts should be made to build ‘Brand India’ in Gem and Jewellery in the same way as Switzerland has become a brand name for precision watches.

The Gem and Jewellery Show has been organized by the All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council. The Governor visited various stalls and also released the publication ‘GJC Connect’ on the occasion. The Gem and Jewellery Show will remain open from 30 Sept to 3 Oct.

Saiyam Mehra, Chairman, All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council, Rajesh Rokade, Vice Chairman, Ashish Pethe, Past Chairman, Saurabh Gadgil of P.N. Gadgil Sons and Suvankar Sen of Senco Gold, were among those present.
