    Prof. Prakash Mahanwar appointed as Vice Chancellor of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University

    The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of Universities Ramesh Bais has appointed Prof Prakash Anna Mahanwar, as the new Vice Chancellor of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University.

    Dr. Prakash Mahanwar (DofB. 01.06.1967) is presently serving as the Senior Professor and Director at the Institute of Distance and Open Learning, University of Mumbai.

    Dr Mahanwar succeeds Dr. Mrunalini Fadnavis whose term as vice chancellor ended on 5th May 2023. Dr. Rajanish Kamat, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Homi Bhabha State University was holding the additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University.

    The Governor had constituted a Search Committee under the chairmanship of former Director, IIT Kanpur Dr. Sanjay Dhande, to recommend a panel of names suitable for appointment of the Vice Chancellor.

    Pramod M. Padole, Director, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Dept and Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad were the other members of the Search Committee.

    The Governor announced the name of Dr. Prakash Mahanwar as the Vice Chancellor after interviewing all the candidates recommended by the panel.
