Governor, CM, Environment Minister participate in G-20 Mega Beach Clean Up Drive in Mumbai
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais accompanied by State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav participated in a mega G-20 Beach Clean Up Drive at Juhu Chowpatty in Mumbai on Sunday (21 May).
The Mega Beach Clean Up drive was organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change as part of India’s G20 Presidency. Wearing protective hand gloves, delegates from G-20 countries participated in the beach clean up drive on the occasion.
Union Minister of State for Environment and Forest Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, Maharashtra’s Minister for Tourism, Skill development and Women and child welfare Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Union Secretary of Environment and Climate Change Leena Nandan, Mumbai Municipal commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, Commissioner of Police Vivek Phansalkar, Principal Secretary Environment and Climate Change Pravin Darade and officials of various government departments where present.
Governor Ramesh Bais gave the pledge of maintaining beach cleanliness to the invitees while chief minister Eknath Shinde stressed the need for public participation to make the campaign a success.
