    Governor Koshyari hosts youths from 4 Central Asian countries

    Feeling like ‘Mumbaikars’ on second day of arrival: Uzbek Delegate

    An 85 member youth delegation from 4 Central Asian countries met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Sunday (20 Nov).

    Youths from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan comprising artists, media persons, students and officials are visiting India from 18 to 23 November at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

    Welcoming the youths to Maharashtra, the Governor said the visit of the youths to India is taking place at the most appropriate juncture when India is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of its Independence and 30 years of diplomatic relations with the Central Asian countries.

    He called upon the youths to think of the greater common good of human welfare and promote peace to enhance progress and development.

    Youths from the Central Asian countries told the Governor that they felt as guests on day one of their arrival, but added that they are feeling like local ‘Mumbaikars’ on the very second day of their visit.

    The Governor felicitated the youth delegation leaders – Egamberdiev Asliddin from Tajikistan, TAALAIBEK BERDIEV from Kyrgyzstan, Ms Ulbolsyn Orakbayeva from Kazakhstan and Islom Okhunov from Uzbekistan on the occasion.

    The first India – Central Asia summit was hosted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Presidents of 5 Central Asian countries in January 2022. The Prime Minister had proposed to host a 100- member youth delegation from the Central Asian countries every year in India.
