Governor Koshyari releases Vikram Sampath’s book on Veer Savarkar
Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari released Vikram Sampath’s book ‘Savarkar A Contested Legacy’ and the Marathi translation of Sampath’s previous book ‘Savarkar: Echoes from A Forgotten Past’ at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Wednesday (25th Aug).
The Marathi translation ‘Savarkar : Vismrutiche Padasaad 1883-1924’ has been rendered by Ranjit Savarkar and Manjiri Marathe.
Former UP Governor Ram Naik, author Dr Vikram Sampath, Trustee of Shirdi Sansthan Rajendra Pratap Singh, editor Chetan Koli and author Shobhaa De were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Koshyari described Veer Savarkar as a ‘Complete Personality’ who combined in him a revolutionary, writer, poet and historian.
Former Governor Ram Naik said a deliberate attempt was made to malign Savarkar. He said he got a portrait of Savarkar installed in the Central Hall of Parliament and also the quotes of Savarkar etched in the Andaman prison.
