Governor releases book on history of Kanhoji Angre family

The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari released the reprint of the book on the history of the Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre dynasty at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Sunday (7th Mar). Descendants of the Angre dynasty were present on the occasion.

The book titled ‘Kulabkar Angre Sarkhel: Angre Gharanyacha Itihas’ written by Damodar Gopal Dhaboo was first published in the year 1939.

The book contains the 150 year history of the Maratha Navy, social conditions prevailing during the Angre period, judiciary, ship building, trade, conflicts during the period, internal strife and other issues. The book has been published by the Shiv Samarth Seva Prakashan.
