Governor takes oath as Patron of Maharashtra Scouts & Guides Recalls his school days as a Scout
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today formally took the Oath as the Patron of the Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guides at an Installation ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.
The Governor gave the 3 fingers Scout salute and read out the Scout pledge ‘to do his duty to God and India and to help other people’ on this occasion.
State Chief Commissioner of Maharashtra Om Prakash Bakoria presented the Insignia and Scarf of the Scouts to the Governor on this occasion. Office bearers of the Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guides Association were present on the occasion
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor recalled that sixty years ago as a student he was a Scout himself. He said he was very happy to reconnect with the Scouts and Guides movement that attaches importance to selfless service to humanity, the country and God.
Acknowledging the good work of the Maharashtra Bharat Scouts and Guides Association which has 14 lakh members from out of 47 lakh members across India, the Governor complimented the organization for doing commendable work during the Covid 19 pandemic period.
