Governor Koshyari condoles demise of writer, playwright Ratnakar Matkari

The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed condolences on the demise of veteran writer, playwright, theater personality, actor and director Ratnakar Matkari in Mumbai. In a condolence message, Governor Koshyari said:

“Maharashtra is one of the richest states in the country in terms of culture and literature. The state owes its distinguished identity as much to its writers, playwrights, musicians and others as to its thought-leaders and social reformers. Ratnakar Matkari belonged to the luminous galaxy of writers who enriched the field of literature and culture with his prolific writings, one act plays, children’s literature, direction and acting. His demise is a great loss to the field of literature and theatre in Maharashtra.”
