Governor Koshyari felicitates Padma Awardees and Rashtriya Bal Puraskar recipients

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari felicitated this year’s recipients of Padma Awards and Rashtriya Bal Puraskars from Maharashtra at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Sunday (15 May).

The felicitation of National Awardees was organised by the Vasantrao Naik Agricultural Research and Rural Development Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said Maharashtra is often referred as the financial capital of Maharashtra. He said Maharashtra is much more than that – the most important State that has given the nation Saints like Jnaneshwar, Tukaram, warrior Kings like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and many social reformers.

The Governor paid rich tributes to the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vasantrao Naik and complimented the Vasantrao Naik Foundation for felicitating the Padma and other national awardees.

The Governor felicitated Padma Shri recipients Dr Himmatrao Bavaskar, Dr Vijaykumar Dongre, Dr Anil Rajwanshi and Dr Bhimsel Singhal and Rashtriya Bal Puraskar recipients Shivangi Kale, Jui Keskar and Swayam Patil on the occasion.

The felicitation for playback singer Padma Shri Sulochana Chavan was accepted by her grandson, while the felicitation for late Dr Balaji Tambe was accepted by Smt Veena Tambe.

Executive President of the Foundation Avinash Naik, MLA Indraneel Naik, trustees Mushtaq Antulay and Deepak Patil were present on the occasion.
